Foracort is a medication that combines Budesonide and Formoterol as its active ingredients. The inhaler incorporates a corticosteroid that inhibits the release of inflammatory substances and a bronchodilator that relaxes the muscles in the airways, facilitating easier breathing. It is primarily prescribed to avert asthma attacks and to manage chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD) when a single medication is insufficient.

 

Budesonide functions as an anti-inflammatory corticosteroid, while Formoterol acts as a bronchodilator that alleviates breathing by relaxing the airway muscles. This inhalation combination medication is available by prescription for preventing asthma and treating Degenerating Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).

 

Formoterol is utilized to alleviate wheezing, shortness of breath, and breathing difficulties associated with asthma or COPD. The Foracort Inhaler is also effective for treating bronchospasm (narrowing of air passages) in individuals with nighttime asthma. It is administered via inhaler for asthma treatment and for the prevention and management of various nasal, throat, or lung allergies.

 

Formoterol is classified as a long-acting beta agonist and aids in relaxing airway muscles, thereby widening them for easier breathing. Budesonide is part of the corticosteroid group of medications, working to decrease swelling and inflammation in the nose, throat, lungs, or intestines.

 

Foracort may lead to side effects, including: sore throat or tongue possibly due to a candida infection (thrush), hoarseness or throat irritation, nasopharyngitis, headaches, rapid heartbeat (tachycardia), tremors (a shaky or tense feeling), and palpitations.
